Most devotees carry their mobile phones or cameras to capture the fog and the sun. After the sun removes the fog and mist, you can see the beautiful fields of Bardia, Tikapur and Nepalgunj in the Terai from Mahabu Patan. In the middle of Patan, there is a small lake, some cowsheds nearby, and the grazing of sheep and goats in the surrounding grasslands makes the glory of Mahabu look different. Looking at these scenes, some call it a land of peace, while others speculate that Shiva and Parvati may have done penance.

It is equally a pleasure to see flowers swaying in the breeze. Mahabu looks even more dignified due to the fields all around, small lakes in between, and green forests all around. The Mahavu area looks like a wedding pavilion adorned with white bouquet flowers and other colorful flowers. On the other hand, the green grass and the sight of sheep and cows grazing are captivating. The fog and clouds can be seen from the plains of the Terai, the view of the mountain peaks, so the tourists who reach there even call it a tower. The month of Mahavudham, which is a heritage of tourists who want to see the beautiful Patan and have religious faith, is truly amazing!
Chalu Acharya, son of Dailekh Bhurtika Brahmin, was voiceless. There is a legend that the Shivling originating from a stone in Mahavudham was first found by a voiceless Acharya. He raised many cows. When one of his cows stopped giving milk and asked why he did not give milk, he saw that the cow was always giving milk at the place where Shivling is now. Seeing this, he saw the Shivalinga with the tip of his sickle. Then Mahadev appeared and said to him, ‘You should always offer me milk and not tell anyone who has seen Shivling here, otherwise you will be able to speak.’ Then there is a legend that Mahadev was introspective. According to Mahadev, he was able to speak and recite the Vedas and worship.

Such is the religious belief
The Mahavudham (Gath) fair, held on the occasion of the great Hindu festival of Janapurnima, lasts from two to five days. Special worship is performed on the day of Churtudarshi. Thousands of worshipers worship and celebrate in Melam. On the eve of Janapurnima, devotees worship Lord Shiva and return home on Janapurnima. Thousands of devotees worship at the five-day fair. Acharya Brahmins of Gargagotriya of Dailekh Bhurti and Khursani Bari offer pooja to other Brahmins of Kalikot and Dailekh only after offering raw buffalo milk. During the puja at Mahavudham, three silver hopefuls with inscriptions, symbolic wooden idols, silver panchabalas with eagles and other valuables are taken out only during special pujas. It is still customary to worship Shivalinga to alleviate the shortage of food throughout the year and to prevent the death of cattle and famine. There is a legend that the gift requested after reaching Mahabu will be fulfilled. There is still a religious belief that the bridegroom will be fulfilled as he has not had children for many years after marriage. Devotees of the pooja are still in the habit of putting grass in their mouths with bouquets from about 400 meters away from the main temple. It is customary for farmers to tie a rope around their necks and pray for the salvation of dead animals at the place where the rope is tied. Without saying a word, the pilgrims go around the place seven times. In Damauda, near Mahavu, there is a grand worship of Mahavai,
Mahabhaya and Jagannath.
It is customary to worship other deities in other parts of the country only after performing pooja with milk stream on the full moon every year. Devotees from Dailekh, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Surkhet, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kathmandu and even India come to the fair. In the past, when a woman went to Mahavudham, it was said that it would be unfortunate. Now, arrangements have been made for women to visit Mahabu. Devotees offer tridents to Mahadev to fulfill their desires.

Mahavu waiting for tourists
This place is equally delightful as it is the highest religious and tourist fair in Karnali. Mahavudham, located at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level, has a tradition of worshiping on Janapurnima every year. The people of Karnali have not mocked the district and central level leaders who are engaged in social service. That is to say, why did the social worker, the discerning man, not recognize the gift of nature? Most of the leaders and intellectuals in a room of the staff house are decorated with pictures of Indian and Nepali heroes, but Mahabu Gath and Patan are asking the same question why I despise the gift of nature.
Mahabu Gath can be found only after a 45-kilometer drive from the district headquarters Dailekh and a 6-hour walk. Now the road to Mahavu has become dangerous. Tourists are also attracted to the scenic Patan area, which is located at a very high altitude, as it rains at once and is covered by clouds again. But no matter how much publicity has been spread about Mahabu, so far no foreign tourists except domestic tourists have taken a step. Devotees from the Terai and other places are embarrassed even if the person who is always coming and going towards that place easily crosses the hill. According to Budhapaka, the rock is called Lisne because its rock is like a steep slope. Although half a dozen festivals have been organized in the district to promote tourism and identify tourist sites, no body has shown interest in promoting the Mahavudham Mela. Maintenance of religious area is the first requirement to promote religious tourism in the district.
Panoramic view, Lekali surroundings!
Carrying a trident on his shoulder, he praises Shiva and reaches Mahavudham by jeep, motorcycle and on foot. Due to being known as the famous shrine of the country, the number of religious pilgrims is increasing every year. Villages of Jumla, Kalikot, Dailekh and Jajarkot can be easily seen from Mahavu Patan. After passing through Bhansikhor and Bhavani, staying at Unipata, the last human settlement of Dailekh, one can reach Patan the next morning after a two to three hour walk. There is no feeling of tiredness while walking while observing the beautiful scenery, Lekali environment, various species and costumes. The number of tourists visiting Patan and Shivaji Darshan is higher in Saun and Bhadau. It is difficult to reach Patan as it snows a lot in winter. Those who reach there bathe in the river flowing in Patan and even worship Shivalinga in the steep lake. Before worshiping Shivalinga, Deval Mahavu in Patan climbs Patan and the body starts shivering due to the cold wind. Tourists can see the beautiful view of Patan while visiting the Shivalinga in the lap of a large stone. The colorful flowers of Buki blooming in Patan eliminates the fatigue of the journey. Mahavu, which has been snowing for more than seven months, is considered to be rich in natural beauty.

Gateway to Karnali
It is also the gateway to Patan Karnali. Another feature of Mahavu is the shortest route to enter the Karnali Zone of the past. Entering Karnali through Mahavu is 48 km shorter. Looking to the future, special plans should be brought to stop tourists entering Karnali. Doing so will increase the number of tourists as Karnali is a very short and easy route. Due to the lack of publicity, Mahavudham, which has beautiful scenery, is still obscured.
